Default George R. Brown Convention Center-Houston, TX

Below is a note to Tarkus.
I will post this in the forum but wanted to let you know that I was able to talk my way into the UCT trade show in the George R. Brown. I brought proof of insurance and that seemed to pacify the show promoters. The original reason for not letting me in was that "we are afraid that you will intimdate the attendees". After some discussion I was able to convince them to the contrary. Well as you can imagine, I was the talk of the show and had to answer a myriad of questions and I did so graciously
My goal is to try to demonstrate the safe use of the Segway and debunk a lot of the myths, and as you all know there are many. I made a point to talk to the promoters after ,and while they didn't just jump for joy that all went well, they did thank me for the courtesy of asking permission.

The Home Show at the Fairgrounds here in Indianapolis asked for two Segways so that the coordinator and his assistant could patrol the premises.

It was a huge success, which resulted in a lot of positive Segway exposure; at least to the conventioneering crowd.

Thumbs up George R. Brown convention center

I have attended over a dozen events at the George R. Brown center on my Segway and never had the slightest problem. Of course the event promoters also have a say but the management at the center have always been cool with me.

Yes Mag it was the event manager that was afraid of them. The GRB people showed me a demo model of the Chinese four wheel Segway look a like. I didn't have time to make a case for the Segway but have every intention of doing so. Warranty on the (forget the name) is only three months. That in itself ought to tell you something.
